The Hubble Space Telescope made them famous, but the new James Webb Space Telescope is currently truly bringing the iconic Pillars of Creation to life, revealing many newly born stars sparkling within the famous dust clouds.

The image above was taken by the JWST Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) and revealed hundreds stars ( some of them are as young as few hundred thousand years old) which were previously invisible through the Hubble Space Telescope cameras.

The spectacular Pillars of Creation are located 7000 light years from Earth, at the constellation of Serpens and they are part of the Eagle Nebula. The towering pillars of gas and dust are about 5 light-years tall.
